TWO POEMS by TOM SNARSKY

TWO POEMS by TOM SNARSKY

Promiscuous Mode

The “in” in “in love,”
not the “in” in “inn”
wrecking itself with
its liquid excess, that
second “n” a quest
for completion that ends
up ending anyway,
temporary, like a room
for a night with
the person you love
which (open secret,
well kept) actually lasts
as long as memory––

//

For Love of the Mystery Moon

In a dream you revealed
Nothing to me

So I kept worrying
That song would die out

To unmake the world
First you whisper

Then you scream
