born from the disappointment in the current climate of outsider art and online publishing, this is SHOW YOUR SKIN

SHOW YOUR SKIN (SYS) is an online literary journal aimed at creating a SAFE(r) space for outsider art meant to disturb, disrupt, and discomfort, though we love and read and will publish absolutely anything. we want to stand as a reminder that discomfort and disruption can exist without the potential to fundamentally offend.

SYS stands vigilantly against misogyny, racism, transphobia, ableism, and work insensitive to trauma survivors. SYS exists as a space to privilege the voices of people of color, women trans and non-binary and gender non-conforming people, those with mental or chronic illnesses, people with dis/different abilities, and any other person whose identities are challenged and invalidated in broader spaces.
